The Heritage Bird 2 loudspeaker from Marten, a tribute to jazz legend Charlie Parker, builds upon experience derived from the award-winning Coltrane and Coltrane Supreme loudspeakers. Like both Coltrane models, the Bird 2 employs diamond and ceramic drivers. Ceramic drivers have extreme rigidity and hardness. The new midrange drivers employed in the Bird 2 have resonance damping and laser-drilled holes in the ceramic cone, which simplifies the crossover and gives even lower distortion in the important midrange frequency area. The newly-developed bass drivers in the Bird 2 feature increased air flow baskets that make the sonic performance more dynamic and less distorted.

In addition to its ceramic drivers, the Bird 2 features a newly-developed, custom-made, 26mm diamond tweeter. Diamond is one of the most rigid materials known to man. When applied to driver design, diamond exhibits virtually no resonance, and produces pure, uncolored, distortion-free sound. The crossover components used in the Bird 2 include copper foil coils and silver foil/oil capacitors of the highest quality and most advanced technology. A bass reflex underneath the cabinet mean it can be placed near a back wall, making it easier to integrate into your living space.

The cabinet of the Bird 2 is optimized, both in appearance and acoustic design. Non-parallel sides, heavy bracing, and special selected 26mm MDF make it extremely resonance-free.The result is a loudspeaker with a very transparent yet powerful sound, and uniquely high resolution. The Bird 2 is exceptionally distortion-free and detailed, with a large, attractive soundstage.
